GPW 8053 both fenders have serration marks and reinforcements, passenger side has deep F mark, driver side maybe shallow if there.

Michael,

Here is something you can check, I don't think I remember seeing one like this in person, but it is pretty small and easy to miss. It's 7 posts from the bottom of the page; a small script 'F' on Zeph's driverside fender. Inside, just behind the lower grill to fender bolt hole.

Thank you for providing a thread with these photos. Steve Ellis also suggested that I search this area for an F. Now that the weather here is beginning to warm up I will get back out to my garage to check GPW 2647’s fenders.

Owners with tombstone added- Is there the big 7/8” hole for the wire to exit like the later factory style? Thanks.

You mean on the inner panel?

Mine has two roughly punched (small) holes, that go inside tge hat channel like the later factory setup

Yes inner panel. I’m finding the retrofit fenders we’re close to the same as the factory style

No.....GPW-17963 had a small hole punched in the inner fender wall for the retro-fitted BOL.

My Oct 7 Dallas GPW (70778) has tombstone guard with 7/16” hole on top (looks possibly punched) and a 7/8“ exit hole. Denifitely not a factory install.

I don’t understand what you mean by « retrofit fender »?

There were just early undrilled fenders, eventually hand drilled « as convenient », or factory drilled later fenders
