It has 4 bolt front and rear axles! Not a Bantam, Quad, or Pygmy.

I agree with Mr. Spear.

Don’t think it was Great Guns...here’s a screen shot (sorry it won’t let me post a decent size here) of that one, made I believe by Troutman and BArnes in LA, I think out of a Model A Ford...quite a bit different...it doesn’t really look like any of the prototypes...

Well, there’s an idea..but why? When and where? The four bolt wheels are a possibility...civie Bantams had those...The jeep began with the 75” wb used by Bantams, Austin’s and Austin Sevens..but, the transfer case required a stretch (on the BRC) to 79.5”....my personal view is that this is one of the very key distinctive features of any jeep..the 80” wb...if it doesn’t have that and a solid power to weight ratio and a weight under about 2500lbs..is it really a jeep?

Btw the picture you post is not really a Bantam production model, but an early Phillipine “jintney” of which a good number of innovative rigs were made over there before and during the war. Made out of Bantams..,in WARBABY I suggest the design of the jeep can be traced from the open Austin pickup trucks the Army bought from American Austin in 1933. Only one of those original cars survives.
