Post by HandyGPW » Tue Apr 17, 2018 8:09 am

Just had jeep rebuilt I’ve had it started and is fine till it’s in gear then when I drive it and give it revs it stops , fuel pump looks low and looks like air inside class bowl when it’s ticking over
All the fuel lines have been renewed

Is the bail holding the bowl on the pump tight?

And if you have had the fuel pump bowl off, best not to reuse the gasket. Same goes for the firewall mounted T-2 Fuel Filter, best to install new gasket. It is a good idea to buy extra gaskets.

That old saying "Curiosity killed the Cat". applies to Fuel Pump Bowls, Fuel Filter Bowls and Carburetors. There is usually nothing to see but the urge to look is overwhelming to most. Buy spare made to fit gaskets ahead of time as home made gaskets do not always work.
