Looking for Lettering Specs for M114

Post by Dodgeman1941 » Thu Feb 14, 2008 3:15 pm

Does anyone have a the VietNam era specs for lettering a M114. We're getting close to painting ours so we need some lettering info to finish it off.

Thanks,

Lew VB

Hi Dan;

We used those pics last weekend when we started sanding. We referenced them to try and find the original numbers. No numbers, no stars, no luck.

Thanks for posting some great pics.

I have seen vehicle lettering specs from WW2 and I have a set of paint specs for the 80's 4 color camo, just nothing in between.

You may not find markings on M-114s found in the US an many were scrapped out of storage in the 70's with only the USA Number and a note or two incidental to removing front axle shafts, and the date of reprocessing on the right rear hull.
