Drive Shaft Lengths

Post by mule270 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 9:10 am

Hey. Does anyone know if the length of the drive shaft is the same for A2 thru A5? If not, I would appreciate any info. you may have on the differences in length. The only thing I have been able to figure out from the TMs is that the A3 has a different part number, therefore a different length? I am wanting to know if the A3 shaft is longer than A2, A4 & A5 or do I just have a wrong shaft? Thanks in advance!!

Yes, M274 and M274A3 drive shafts are longer. Don't have one in front of me to measure, but they are longer.

Is that because the 4 cyl mules had a smaller brake drum?
