My new (to me) Mule
Greetings,
I recently got myself a Mule, and have just started work on it. Most of it looks to be in good shape, so I hope I will not have too many difficulties. This board, and all its generous users is a wonderful resource.
It is a M274A5 that has had four wheel steering added.
Information from data plate:
Reg. No. 364647
Mfg by Brunswick Corp.
MFR Ser. No. 0079
Date of Del. 6/69
Procurement U.S. Army
My Location: Central Kentucky

Re: My new (to me) Mule
Congratulations. Since it is a Brunswick, I have been told it's a fairly desirable model to have. Could you have a look at the valve position data plate on the deck of your mule,up by the shifter plate, and see if there is a stock number in the corner. A picture of it, if there is one would be best. John Emery Mule Supply has been looking for that number so he can finish his reproduction plates for a long time. I posted this quite a while back but no one to date has been able to produce a number. Most date plates have been replaced with repro's I guess.
Thanks

Re: My new (to me) Mule
We have been trying to attach an image file but have been unable to...
Not sure how to get "administrative approval" to attach files....but, John Emery (and Grummanflyer, who brought this to our attention via his post this morning) if you PM us directly we will try to send a photo taken of the mule valve position data plate that clearly shows the stock number.
We have no problem posting images/files on Steel Soldiers, that may be a better venue for sharing information.

My valve position plate does not have a number. There is a number on the other (gear position?) plate.
11592143.
I will try to post pictures later, but it might take a little while.

PM sent along with my e-mail address. Also if you go here http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/register.php you can create a photo album and link pictures. You don't need admin approval that I know of. I'll gladly post the picture here for everybody if you e-mail it to me.rosie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 17, 2018 11:56 amWe have been trying to attach an image file but have been unable to...

Ed, I show your registration number as 369831. Any sign of a Deco Grand rebuild plate anywhere on your mule?I also have a Brunswick Mule

Re: My new (to me) Mule
Chuck, that is my registration number. Where would I find a Deco Grand rebuild plate and what does it look like? The person I bought the Mule from said it came from 29 Palms with very low hours.

Re: My new (to me) Mule
what I have seen were glued to the top of the trans-axle case. Yours probably not if it came from 29 Palms. Lot of late model, low hour mules came from there, lots were painted red.
