New home for M274A5!

Post by Guam0311 » Sun Mar 04, 2018 6:09 pm

As of yesterday, March 3d, I am very happy and proud to finally own one of these MULES.

What I know is, it's 4 wheels steering, no hour meter, the deck looks to be in pretty good condition. I spent the whole day and evening, familiarizing myself with the nomenclature.

I drained and dropped the fuel tank. two of the eight screws holding the internal fuel filter assembly were missing. Years of corrosion has taken its toll on the screws for sure. I had to use an "easy out" to get the remaining fasteners out.

Drained the transmission, out came small tiny gold colored flakes. I assume coming from the synchronizer, which needs replacement. I did not see any[ large chunks. gear teeth etc. Soon I will tip the thing on its side to start the Transmission work.

Now to break open the wallet and money, or lack of!

Yup, It's great to work on. I have the MULE on it's side right now and currently deep into the Transmission. Learning as I go and great help on this sight as well.

I find it a good stress reliever from my job. Not much time to work on it but when I do it's great. Take my time at my own pace.
