Post by byronk » Sat May 12, 2018 2:09 pm

Hi all,
I have never posted on here,
I have just had to take out my 1941 slat grill engine from my 1943 ford. Ive been told its a rare beast if somone needs it for their slat grill. I need a 1943 gpw block. The face where the sump bolts to is dated and the engine number is
Mb100356

What is the date stamped on the pan rail, and what is your location? BW

I’m interested. What is your GPW’s serial number? I have 6 or 7 spare GPW blocks.

That is very interesting to have an MB block stamped MB100356 and have a machining date of 9-23-41. The Maching date is at least 1 month prior to the first MB coming off of the line. But stranger things have been found.

A lot of VEP Fords seem to have received Wilson blocks cast around october 41, while the first GPWs were only delivered in January and February
