Slat Seat Question
I have these two little tabs welded on my Jan ‘42 MB’s driver’s seat. While I’m sure it’s a Bubba mod I thought I’d better ask those who are more versed in early MB’s than I am (more of a GPW guy....still learning). Thanks in advance!

Re: Slat Seat Question
Not original to the seat as far as I know. I would remove them until someone came up with a better explanation.

Re: Slat Seat Question
Gary;
No sir...it does not. Speaking of the passenger seat...it has a series of drain holes on the seat pan. Were these factory at the time my Jan ‘42 MB was delivered? I know later seats had the drain holes but early seats? I should add, the passenger seat has the "split back" seam.

Re: Slat Seat Question
Michael....the only decent pic of an MB seat is below (I'm a GPW guy also). It seems to have four holes in the seat pan that are not just where the spot welds gave way.
Here is a green painted MB seat with split frame on the back as one would expect. Below that is the seat pan for that MB passenger seat:

Re: Slat Seat Question
Chuck, the holes on the seat pan are exactly like the 5 on yours.
