TR Head Bolt Question

Post by Mark » Mon Apr 09, 2018 5:47 am

It's my understanding that slat grills used TR marked head bolts. I have some original TR marked head bolts but also have some marked TR with a "M" above the TR. Are these M TR head bolts also original?

I also notice that the M TR marked bolts have less threads on them.

There may have been some A/TR but typical was TR20. TR's were not there on any of my projects. The TR's may have been found on GP's if fine threaded.

Sorry, my questions was regarding the engine head bolts and their markings. I have some original marked "TR" and some that have a "M" above the "TR". My question is are the "M TR" marked head bolts correct for an early MB?

I have not seen any engine head bolts marked "TR20". I am not saying they don't exist, I just haven't seen them.

Thanks

From Willys MA only TR (not have seen M TR or TR20 on engine head bolts) marked bolts. The same TR marking only on 3/8" and 7/16" bolt heads (never have seen on any MA any original TR20 bolts in size 3/8" and 7/16".
But MA isn't Slat...

Lad.
