P-51 photo taken on the beach at Normandy...

Okay, not really, just messing around with my digital camera on the toy room rug, playing with my new 1/18 scale P-51D. :?
This is an utterly amazing model, this is how it came out of the box. I'll probably change the antenna lead with fishing line, but otherwise I'll keep it as is. I snagged it for $40 at the local Toys R Us... It has EVERY marking you'd ever find on a P-51, and a full interior (which I had to read the gauges with a magnifying glass)
Here's more on this incredible model:

It's currently the only WW2 aircraft they make. 21st Century toys makes 1/18 airplanes as well (I have one of their P-47s), but they are NOT as good as this P-51 I just got!

Here's a few more, from the back deck. The Jeep is a Tamaya 1/20 die cast slat grill:

Lee

I have one of the 21st Century P-51's...
This model you have looks to be more detailed in the pictures.
I am curious about your diecast jeep. Is there a website that sells them?
It would be great to get a WC-54. I have seen the Solido models on ebay, but they don't look as detailed as I would like.

Here's another goof photo of the plane, including interior detail: http://www.krimemasters.com/images/prod ... roduct.jpg

Sorry, Greg, they haven't made them in years, and they never made any other WW2 vehicles (they did make a Humvee, though). I lucked up finding two at a local hobby shop on sale. I looked around, and found a couple of places that appear to have them, but they are NOT cheap: http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/1318_1_1500674.html http://www.rocousa.com/tamiya/PriceListgroup.htm http://www.radicalworks.com/Die%20Cast.htm

Who makes the Corsair? Was at Toys 'R Us yesterday and couldn't find it. Is it the same size as the P-51? I saw that and it is really nice. My all time favorite is the Corsair and I'd love to get one. Thanks

Ted- it's the same company that makes the P-51 (Elite Force). I'm still amazed at the detail of the Mustang- what looks like faint paint smudges on the undersides of the wings is really microprint readable only under magnification! These models put the 21st Century Toys Mustang to shame when it comes to level of detail, and for the same price!

Interesting, Elite for is made by Blue Box Toys. I went on the website and can't find anything close to a Corsair. Am I missing something? Wouldn't be the first time.
