OFF WE GO INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER

Post by Ben Dover » Mon Oct 31, 2016 5:39 pm

Pretty Ain't she?
F-80C Shooting Star, in the colors of the "MINUTE MEN" Jet Acrobatic Team " of the Colorado 120th Fighter Squadron, 140th Fighter Wing.
Finally, my own jet powered Warbird. Been a military aviation fan for as long as I have been a military vehicle fan. The F-80 is my favorite Jet Fighter. First one I saw in flight was an early gray colored one that circled over our business around 1947. F-80's were an every day and next door sight for 5 years beginning 1948.
The Fox Able mass F-80 flights to Germany led by Colonel David Schilling are still a vivid memory.

None of me flying it. I retired it for display at the ANG base. It's still very airworthy, tho.
I'll contact the former pilot for the video.

F-80C Shooting Star needs a mate.
Looking for a quality RC Jet Model T-33A to display with this one. The 40's-50's Army and USAF aircraft have been my hobby since that time.

Ben
Do you have a copy of the September 2016 issue of "Air classics"? I has a great several page story of the Colorado's ANG Minute men aerobatic team. Lots of colored photos in the article that look just like your jet.

Thanks Frank, I do have that issue. I appreciate your taking the effort to remind me. Hopefully will add a pedigree T-33A Trainer to display with the F-80.
