12k swap questions

Post by spitfire1745 » Mon Apr 02, 2018 5:51 am

I like to do a 12k swap by getting bothbfrontband rear clips "not looking to purchase as of yet" to my truck. But I can find in any old forms. So sorry if someone already has one up. I like to know what's different in a 12k setup than a 10k. I know the hubs axles and the tie rods are different. What else is different in that setup that I need to swap over that I would not know off the bat to do a clean swap vs getting away with using 10k.

Thank you

Are there any difference in control arms and ball joint?

Oh man. I noticed different rails but I did not noticed or couldn't not noticed if the rails were thicker. The cross member I did not know also but I guess I won't get to serious with the swap.

There are complete 12k chassis out there. you'll spend $3,500 - $5,000 for one. They're set up for heavy Sheppard steering with square airlift hooks, etc.
