Exhaust Gaskets

Post by Action » Sat Mar 31, 2018 11:02 am

Years ago, I went to a muffler shop with an old muffler gasket. The guy gave me a few and said they were for a Chrysler. Exact match. That was in KY. Today I went to a muffler shop, and they didn't have anything that big. I went to Autozone and used an H1 for the vehicle. He brings out a 2-sided donut with an internal diameter of 2 3/32". I went to Advance Auto Parts, and they pulled out the same thing.
In all my years of selling H1 parts, I have never seen what they pulled up. Has anyone else come across this? Or know what else uses the 3" ID 1-sided donut gasket?

Thanks,
Jason

A store found one today, part 31364. I think WOLFER, which comes back to a 1983 VW Rabbit Convertible. :?: Seems a bit big for that car's exhaust.
