Dodge 1/2 Ton WC Throttle Linkage

Post by 17thAirborne » Sun Mar 11, 2018 3:37 pm

I think the salad on my engine carburetor/throttle linkage is not proper. Could someone be so kind as to post a few clear pics of the proper linkage parts required to go from the passenger side cross shaft through the bell cranks on the manifold up to the carburetor. Here is what I had on mine and nothing appears correct except the plate that screws to the manifold.

Thanks

Here is an image of the various bell crank parts that I have, along with the hrottle Cable Housing Clamp Bracket. VPW does have that bracket, but no other bell cranks that mount on the bracket. I will also need to fab the rod that goes from the linkage to the throttle.

Excellent. Thanks very much. That is the most clear image yet. I have not determined the correct orientation of the governor. I have it installed as this image shows, but VPW said it should be turned the other way. The image I posted on my thread seems to show it 180 out from the pic you posted. Thanks for posting this as it will help me to sort out the correct linkage parts.

I wonder if there is a late war and early war version different for the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. They look close, but I do see the differences. Since I have a replacement engine T214, i am not sure which is correct either :?

Finally got around to making a linkage from the manifold bell crank to the throttle. The bell crank is from an M37 according to VPW, and a close match, if not functional.

Looking good Oz,your almost thereto spent the last week working on cleaning all my manifold parts and throttle linkages ,so when i get to where you are now i have a few options, still not sure what to use.got a decent high rise inlet manifold from John at Midwest.will need to get the inlet and exhaust machined as they are quite a way out.

I will be pleased to see the manifold with linkage on it to compare how close my bellcrank fab and linkage is. I am glad I had my IN/EX machined. It took quite a bit to get them mated nicely to create a pure seal. I am trying to motivate myself to befin again on the cab. Not comfortable with my lack of sheet metal skill, but just need to dive in there.

Have you compared 1/2 Ton accelerator linkage parts with 3/4 Ton WC? I may be able to with NOS if some pieces are the same.

I received the bell crank from VPW. Steve said it was from am M37, close, but not the exact same pattern. He said original WC bell cranks are hard to find. I made the throttle bell crank to throttle lever myself trying to match the bends from batmobile's original.

Can anyone tell me how this little block is connected to the bell crank? I have the little block but only has 1 post off the side.
