WTT Do-Ray Lamp Co reflector and other reflector bezels

Post by Peace » Mon Feb 13, 2017 2:44 pm

Hi all,

I have, what I believe, an original Do-Ray Lamp Co reflector. Do-Ray 100, Tiger-Ey-P.

It is complete with the back plate.
It is however fused together. The stamping is very thin, and 2 extra holes are added.

The red plastic is S.R. CO. NO 14. It has quite some scratches, and light cracks.

I am looking for a trade for 4 original Corcoran Brown reflectors, possibly with their red Grotelite 100 lenses.
They should be restoration candidates. Scratches & light cracks don't scare me.

I don't have a feel for the reflector market, so if I am out of line with my trade offer, be sure to set me straight!

These are up for trade also:

-GROTE MFG MARISON, IND. (just the bezel)
-K-D#333 TRIFLEX-P K-D Lamp Co

Again looking for the same thing, Corcoran Brown reflector bezels with or without Grotelite 100 lenses.

pictures below.

Kind regards,
Stijn

Hello,

Your Do Ray Tiger ey housing is correct for a 1st contract GPW and at a guess some early 2nd contract ones too. Perhaps try posting it in the VEP GPW forum too as some check there but not here? The reflector inside it (as far as i know) is wrong for the housing- on a 1st contract GPW it would be a Tiger Ey reflector. Together the original tiger ey reflector and housing would make it quite rare, but even still it is a desirable housing given repro reflectors are now available.

The KD triflex might be off a bigger truck- perhaps try offering it in the 2 1/2 ton forum?

Good luck,
Ian.

My bezel is marked: "do-ray lamp co. Pat2216325 do-ray 100 tiger-ey-p"
My reflector plastic is marked "tiger-ey plastic no 100".

I believe the reflector for sale here is correct for early MB, not early GPW.

Hi Luke,

You are right, the ones on 11730 match yours. I did not notice (nor remember!) the patent info.

Early MB's used a Corcoran Brown Tiger Ey housing, so I am not sure where this one fits in the picture. I remember something about one of the prototypes using a Do Ray Tiger Ey housing, but not sure on details at all (possibly MA?).

Peace, sorry for leading you astray with the info.

Cheers,
Ian.
