That hammer was part of many upper echelon sets. Quite ingenious in its design and function. Great find!

Ha! Sorry Luke, I was just kidding. No I suspect the cord was added by Bubba for unknown reasons. Still it might be nice to have if only for the 1944 stamped handle.

No company I know of would stamp wood in the handle area like that, which would allow for splintering, etc. It would have been paint stenciling possibly, or stamped int he head, which this guy didn't do as it's a hardened head.
Man I could stamp a heck of a lot of stuff "US 1944" if I was only dishonest....next will be a "F" script marked hammer.

I am an electrical contractor, you guys figure out what you want to be electrified and I can make it happen. Percentage of sales is o.k with me.
