Display of tool's ?

Post by GI. » Thu Apr 05, 2018 8:19 am

Just wondering if some of you display your jeep/vech. tool's with your vech. at show's, and how you do it, do you put them on your hood, on the ground, back seat ? any pic's of your vech. on display with the tool kit ? I think the tool kit's are so neat and should be displayed along with the Military vech's.
When I took my "A" model ford to a car show I would lay the tool kit on the running board, got a lot of interest. Thank's

Unfortunately you should probably keep an eye on them at all times...or secure them with cable ties to a pegboard to keep them from walking away. Some items like the jack will be hard to secure but still a good idea to do that one also. Small things like a Bristol Wrench need to be secured with something!

I have my primary set mounted in a large "suitcase" I found at a flea market. The tools are mounted securely, and the case is pretty heavy so unlikely to walk away. I display the case with the spare parts kit and glove box stuff whenever I show the Jeep and they always attract attention. I also have a partial kit that I keep in the tool storage areas and occasionally will put out when I have the hood open. I sometimes feel like folks are more interested in the tool display than the Jeep.

I also have complete tool kits for our Model T, Model A, and EV8 also in cases. I think they add a lot to the "feel" of the car and people do enjoy seeing them. I once had a young man point at one of the wrenches and ask what it was - I answered him after a heavy sigh...

We have posted this before but thought we would add it to your topic so you can see how we display our tools. Have everything wired down so they don't "walk" away!

Stingray,
A very nice way to display your tool's, also a secure way. when you go to event's do you lay the tool board on you bumper ? will the tool board fit in the back of your jeep ? that look's like a very complete and correct tool kit, thank's for the pic.

It fits across the wheel wells in the back for transport and we usually just lean it against the front bumper.

Mine looks very similar to Stingrays, it rides in the MBT. I put it where ever it makes sense given the show venue, sometime leaning against the bumper, sometimes against the side. I also have two posters I use; one talking about the jeep itself and another talking about the unit its representing and their history.
