Sean, on the East Coast here there is a clothier named Sy Syms. His does commercials where he says, "An educated consumer is our best customer."
If you had one this excellent series on what type of intricate work and know how is involved in speedo resto, I can't imagine anyone would complain about how long it took and you could probably have doubled your prices.

Sean -- Thank you for sharing the 'how to' with us!! It's amazing what all all the different Gee-men have superior skills at doing. What does the tool look like that you use to de-crimp the bezel?? I can see me totally destroying a bezel!!! Keep up the work and information. Thanks again, Sean. Glenn

Was never meant to be a "How To" only an insight into what is involved in restoring one.pfarber wrote:This is a nice pitorial but LIGHT on what goes on.
Thanks for the insight, bummed out about no details.
Never thought of that. I could double my prices, quit work and have a one month turn around.Sergio wrote:I can't imagine anyone would complain about how long it took and you could probably have doubled your prices.

Let me tell you what all the Harvard MBAs pay a lot of money to learn:Sean wrote: Never thought of that. I could double my prices, quit work and have a one month turn around.
Buy low, sell high, do it as often as you can.
When you have a backlog of work, raise your prices until you have work for today only. You can't make nickel one off tomorrow's job.

It looks scary - all those little parts. I have to rebuild my original Motometer sometime - the trip turns slower than the odo.
But as I just rebuilt my gearbox and was worried about that but finally it went OK, these posts just might persuade me that it can be done without to much trouble.
Great work.
David
