British Jeep Replacement Parts Catalogue GPW MB

Post by Raflad » Fri May 18, 2018 10:40 pm

Not sure if this is the right area to post this but I have this catalog in my collection and thought it might be of interest, maybe it is pretty common and if so my apologies. No date, but assuming it was published shortly after the war. I have provided a couple of the pages as an example of the contents. The whole catalog has 35 pages. You could buy a whole engine for 69 pounds and a frame for 35!

When I first started with Jeeps in the 1960's these together with a similar one produced by Metamet of London were the more organised parts suppliers for the mechanical components Virtually every jeep I bought had one in the glovebox. TM's were quite rare and parts books even more so.
Interestingly, the first Jeep I was offered was priced at £5.00 - but needed a new clutch! however, there was a Metamet Parts list with it which I have still , though I passed on the purchase, as a new clutch would have cost about the same......!
A number of companies offered "conversions" usually aimed at the agricultural market, but not exclusively as their styling was quite basic, and in the UK at the time car ownership was a luxury few could afford.
