Drilling holes on drivers side blackout drive head lamp fender light
I`m looking for the dimensions of the holes of the blackout light on the drivers side on fender.
I mean the holes of the distances from the border on the fender. My Jeep is without holes and I want to install...
Many thanks for your support if you can.

Jeep Draw will have them. It’s $2 well spent and the drawings are exact.

What vintage is your jeep? The earlier jeeps did not have this light. If it was added after the fact with the kit that came out it would possibly have had a different shape light guard and slightly different harness that had to be added to the vehicle.

Re: Drilling holes on drivers side blackout drive head lamp fender light
Back in 1993, my early GPW (I think early August 42, no script) had no fender light switch, or trailer receptacle....of course "ALL" jeeps had these when I was growing up, sooooo my jeep became a victim of my modification (done correctly though) All I had was the All American wonder and a few other pubs, but it didn't dawn on me, nor did we have easy access to understanding what 'factory' was, especially while sitting out in the National Training Center desert in California.
And I really regret it to this day. I can't just weld in the holes, it's done.
Just think about it before drilling...

Re: Drilling holes on drivers side blackout drive head lamp fender light
My GPW-17963 came to me with a horseshoe FBODL on it and a dash mounted switch for it. Since it did not come from the factory that way, someone in the 50 years before I got it put one on it. Maybe in service, maybe not...seems like something foolish for a post-war owner unless they were "restoring" it....nevertheless, I bought a "tombstone" shaped bracket and removed the horseshoe shaped one.
It had been placed a little out of position compared to that type when installed on a factory GPW but at least it did not interfere with the hood latch!
Interestingly enough when removed, I found a second set of holes that matched the tombstone bracket so no drilling and no welding up holes was required. It is a bit forward of where it "should" be but it does not interfere with the hood latch so its location was not moved.
The wartime kit to install them I believe has a diagram or measurements on where to drill holes but if one was attached by a PO that may or may not have been available and it may mean it was installed as the owner saw fit.

The jeeps I find to restore are darn lucky to even have sheet metal left were those holes are supposed to be. Must be a California thing, condition wise. In the midwest with it's 90 percent humidity, they are usually eaten away.

JeepDraw has a drawing for the holes of the tombstone bracket too, measured from the holes of our mid-production slatgrill Willys. Ofcourse you will have some artistic freedom there as they are holes drilled by some G.I. over 75 years ago.

Thanks to all. Wholes are drilled now and BO light is installed. I like it but know that not all Jeeps had these.

Funny thing about that fender BO light; you can tell who actually has tried to use his simply by looking at where it is aimed.
If it is pointing straight ahead, it hasn't, if it is turned to the right so the beam is splayed across your lane it has.
Try it and "see" what I mean....
