Thrust Washer Pin T84

Post by scheinerj » Sun Apr 15, 2018 5:53 am

Hi All,
I recently bought a case from another G503'er that is completely missing the pin and hole for the thrust washer. I do not even see spot where the hole would have been on the inside or outside of the case either.

Has anyone ever seen this?

I spent 240 dollars on this case and do not want to make it completely useless. The buyer said he has multiple cases that are missing the spot for the pin.

Any ideas why it would not have a pin?

The cluster gear thrust washer ??
As I recall, the case just had a wide slot for the tab on the washer to fit into. Keeps the washer from turning but the washer could shift back and forth a bit.
No hole.

The front TW tab is inset into the notch:

The rear STEEL TW has a hole in it for the pin in the case but the BRONZE one between it and the Cluster gear is free to turn.

Ah that makes sense.

That definitely grinds my gears (literally).
I spent 240 on completely non-useable case.
Now I have 2 dud cases and have to find a third!

The rear thrust washer spot definitely has either by machined down, or worn because I had .080 of axial play.

Time to find another case.

Hopefully Ron has one!

Why not have your cases repaired? Where are you located?

Connecticut. Not sure who would repair them....I have a great machine/engine shop that I use but not sure they would be able to do this under the cost of 300.00
