Does anyone know if there was a certain issue of LIFE magazine that these original photos were printed in?
Would be very cool to track down a copy of that issue!

Assembly line in England, October 28, 1943. A good shot of the horn and how the bracket was painted with over spray on the horn and the painted windshield bottom seal.

The above photo (hand written number W702215) relates to the second part of the typed caption ( W702215) and is in Roseville, Ca Oct 28 1943.

The mention of an assembly line in England does not relate to the photo at all..

Note the "Daisy Mae " Cap worn by Sgt Elmer Owens on the right. They make a cool cap to be worn around your motorpool. I have one in Blue Denim and later HBT.

Roseville, Ca. is where Lt. Col. Howard Croackard is from, not the place of the photo. Pvt. Vernon Seldonridge, from Detroit, Mich. and Lt. Col. Croackard, from Roseville, Ca. are being photographed in England.

EDIT: Found the full film clip. These are actually GPs, and not MBs

Contrary to some belief, these Jeeps are not "leaving the assembly line". These Jeeps are coming down the roof access ramp from the roof parking lot.

1946 photos of the roof access ramp.

Photographer-Myron Davis
Date-February 1942
Location- Location- Camp Holabird, Baltimore, MD
“Army Generals Taking Course In Handling Armored Division Vehicles”

In the Myron Davis Album added, the one jeep looks odd... square back corner and the rear wheel looked turned to me. Is this one of the 4ws models??
Or it could be just an optical illusion... :?:

No date or caption was provided but I'm sure this is part of the 1942 set.
