Posting for reference I guess...nothing special, but it looks only to have been painted red, no evidence of any OD paint...

There are photographs from the Louisiana Maneuvers that show what appears to be unpainted jerrycans.
This can may have went through its Army career without ever being painted, or perhaps it was painted red while in service.

Nice! I'm a fan of the galvanized cans. Also the two tab cap is a nice find too. My understanding is usually by now they've been replaced at some point.

Didnt start out collecting fuel cans...but dang if I dont keep finding them...this one was at a flea market, and did not know about galvanized cans. or two tab lids...always a nice surprise
