ww2 HORLAVINA Jerry can (Sandrik)

Post by Rajeee » Sun Dec 24, 2017 8:06 pm

I am looking for a ww2 Czech Jerry can made by SANDRIK.

Stamped “HORLAVINA” I know its rare bird. But I figured, no harm in trying.

Thanks
Adam

Hmmm...."HORLAVINA" (basically flammable)...
Perhaps that SANDRIK can was made post-WWII and was not an SS item. While SANDRIK SS marked cans went to all fronts and were captured, thereby making them available to collectors in many countries....that factory would be behind the Iron Curtain under the influence of a Communist regime. This was probably produced for their armed forces.

Any date of production on it?

Like the SS cans they are not dated. But due to the scarcity many collectors have only seen pictures.

Thanks

Forgot to add they were War time production till late war. Once the Soviets over ran the factory.

Thanks for clarifying that they were in fact Wartime production. I suspected they were since I have 3 SS cans that are the identical color of medium/dark green with thinning and the underlying red primer showing thru.
