Showing your MV at shows

Post by Daren » Mon Feb 12, 2018 4:40 am

Hi all, I have got my jeep to a standard where I am happy to take her to shows and events.
In the UK what is the protocol for showing ones vehicle. Do you apply to the organiser of the show or have to be part of a group/club displaying at the show of choice.
I am particularly interested in shows around the UK midlands area but also would like to take her to War and Peace.
Any info would be greatly accepted and appreciated

Check out the MVPA's website and look at the affiliates. There are three local clubs listed with contact people you could write and ask for direction.

Good luck.

Hi Daren,
Look for your local MVT [military vehicle trust] club, quite a few around the midlands. They arrange their own shows plus are invited to private events
all over the UK. Most smaller events are happy for you to come along, some of the larger shows require booking in advance and one or two expect payment!

Daren, a lot of shows are just glad to have you there, just turn up. There is plenty going on in the midlands. There is the Severn Valley war weekend, War in the vale at Evesham , the Forge museum at Redditch, plus many classic car shows, and all well advertised, if you need any more info get in touch. Where are you located Daren ?

Daren,
The Yorkshire area MVT have a crank up in York on Sunday 15th April, I think that it's in the centre somewhere.

The Yorkshire War Experience near Leeds/Bradford. Here's a little info, it's a good show.

Hi, next year the Yorkshire Wartime Experience Show 6-8th July 2018 http://www.ywe-event.info will be holding a special armoured/tracked vehicle gathering. We're hoping to gather together the largest amount of armoured/tracked vehicles, of any age and nationality outside a museum in England. If you own an armoured vehicle, wheeled or tracked we'd like to here from you. Cheers Stuart

Hey Daren
A word of warning mate. If you meet up with that Dave at the Yorkshire wartime event. Don't let him lead you astray with those Welsh Girls.
Joking apart. Close to you is the Woodhall Spa wartime weekend 7-8th July. A bunch of jeeps will be there. Including mine :) Just go online to find the show organisers to get yourself booked in. Like other posters have said loads of shows to go to .All depends on how far you want to travel and how many weekends you want to be out :) Pm me if you want and I can tell you about events.
regards Nick

Hi Nick,
I'm torn between Woodall Spa and Yorkshire War as they are the same weekend. I have heard great things about both.
I have booked myself in at a new show on April 14/15 in New Holland, North Lincs, as it is not far from where I work so not far to travel and will be going to both Winterton Steam and Crowle and Ealand 40s weekend both in September.
Oh and what's this about Welsh girls?????

Hey Daren
Don't forget the Victory Show starts 31st of August. :) Think you'd find that Yorkshire war weekend is the bigger than Woodall. I,ll leave it up to Dave to explain about the Welsh girls
regards Nick
