75mm M1A1 Pack Howitzer accessories wanted

Post by P Bellamy » Mon Dec 22, 2003 12:33 pm

Hi All,

Looking for accessories to complete restored 75mm Pack How M1A1 on M8 carriage.
Especially sight storage box and fibre shell tubes.

Any ideas?

Paul

Thank you to those who have emailed me, some good leads there.

Current "wish-list" is:

Sight box
Rubber eyecup for the M1 Pan-Tel
tools (we have the toolroll)
the C-clips for shipping fuzes
Shell containers
case for M1 Aiming Circle
British A/B spec hubcaps
Correct spec Aiming Posts. Not 25pdr (too big), not 3" mortar (too small)

See http://www.geocities.com/pack75mmrestorationpages for sometimes up to date news on the project.

Thanks again,

Paul

I have just been informed that one of my friends has had some sets of correct nuts and bolts made up to fit M1 PanTels to M3 sight mounts.

There may be a spare set or two avaliable, if any one needs them, let me know before Jan 20th.

All the best,

Paul

All bolt sets allocated now, sorry.

The size is No8 ANF at 36TPI in case you needed to know.

Hi!

The restoration is 90% done, with just the minor details to finish. We're at quite a decisive point at the moment, do we finish her as a licenced, firing gun, or as an inert, deactivated lump? Awaiting the decision of the powers that be on that.

Must add to "wants list": Good detail pictures of the leather axle gaiter.

I'm afraid the photos on the website are a bit poor, but I'll be posting a whole load of new ones up soon. It was only the other day when I realised we'd had the gun since 2000, and I'd never taken a photo of it in one piece!

Thanks for your interest,

Paul

Urgent help needed!

Post by P Bellamy » Thu Jan 22, 2004 5:40 pm

Was there ever a SOLID SHOT projectile issued for the Pack How?

In theory, the M72 AP-T round could be fired through it, but I need any references to training rounds, emergency rounds etc...

HELP!

Paul
