This truck looks as though it hasn't been taken apart much, a lot there to work with.

The GI CCKW Winter Cab had noticeably flimsy doors, one had to be careful to make sure they were latched.
There were a lot of these cabs installed on open cab CCKW Airfield Tankers. Many had the Stewart Warner CCKW Fender mounted fuel burning heater kits.
I still have a NOS crated CCKW Heater Kit with hood blankets, I keep it as a curio for my CCKW collection. They require a lot of hole cutting and the defroster ducts take up a good portion of the cab. The cabs were warm and cozy tho when the gas heaters worked. The heaters are another story as they soon suffered from USAF tinkering by mechanics not familiar with them.

This last weekend I moved the Arctic cab truck out of the woods and into a clearing where a flatbed trailer an more easily pick it up. luckily , we only had to remove one outer bearing on one wheel to break free the drum from the brake shoes. We got the parking brake to work and it was all downhill so one wild ride downhill until it was parked. Right front tire blew just as we parked and with only 40 psi in it.

Nice truck, I wonder what the chassisnumber is because it looks like that the winch is added later. That will also explain the Chevrolet grill on the truck.
Restored and owns a GMC CCKW 353 A2

yes ,the winch manufacture is not a Garwood, heil or tulsa, can't remember the name right now. It is also a dump bed. the grill doesn't go out to the blackout light which is also missing. It was part of the Health welfare and education dept after the war , and has an aluminum property tag on the dash so stating and was obtained from the owner in Troutdale , Oregon . It has no military plate on the firewall either, sort of looks like it never did????. the arctic cab windshield doesn't fold down so I'm going to try and find a fold down and switch over.
