Troop seats GTB

Post by 1943Willysgpw » Fri Apr 20, 2018 11:38 am

Does anyone know the dimensions or have drawings of troop seats for a GTB? I would like to either find some or get schematics to build a set. Thank you.

I do not have the GTB linier dimensions but the mill work and number of boards cut for the racks and lazybacks and their dimensions other than length will be same as G-506, G-508. The vertical wood stakes that go to the Bow Corners will be the same length as G-506 and G-508.

Thanks Joel. Are the troop seats for a G506 readily available? Also, do you think I could modify these to fit?

WWII and M-Series have different metal parts. M-Series can be made to fit, there are differences in appearance of the metal. Most will not notice.
Best to salvage Troop Rack Hardware from WWII Cargo Trucks if you can. Steel and Wood bodies share the same Troop Racks.

Ben is correct. What I have seen of the GTB and Chevy beds is that they were both produced by Edward G. Budd Mfg. with the difference that the GTB bed has wheel well blisters in the floor. The cargo area is pretty much identical for both trucks.
I will call my buddy and tell him to expect a P.M. from you. He just finished assembling His troop seats, back rests and uprights. His dimensions are in His build thread somewhere. Cody is always happy to help, here is His P.M. contact info.
