Spotting a genuine WLA from a converted civilian

Post by SammyJD » Sun Mar 25, 2018 1:11 pm

Hi All

I line in Australia and am looking at some options to buy WLA. There are a few about, normally at a premium over a civilian version so thought that dodgy sellers may choose to mock up a military spec.

I know this is a newbie question - I'm starting to build my knowledge before jumping in - so what are the basics I can look for that give me confidence, e.g. frame number style? engine numbers? anything hard to fake?

Thanks in advance

SD

Purchase Bruce Palmer's "How to restore your Military Harley Davidson" This is the bible for these military models. It will explain all the variations and types of these bikes. They are not all the same.
Educate then purchase, you will be glad you did.
Good luck
Bob
