Hi Chuck, this is the best photo I have for now, will be back down with the trailer next week if you need something better. Does the USA number I gave match your records? I'll email you the other information you required.

Hi Chuck: Finally got the answers to all of the questions.

1.Data Plate. Yes it's there. Serial # 2470, delivery date 8-42IMG_3586.JPG
Does the tag that's visible below the data plate say "US AEC"? If so you better check it with a Geiger Counter :P

That's quite the find. I can't tell from your photo's but I'm assuming welded brackets for the lights.

It came from Los Alamos, so you never know! The light brackets are welded.

Hey there guys,

I have (the remains of) what I believe to be either a Bantam or Willys trailer but i'm struggling to pin down just what it is as there isn't a whole lot remaining.

The body is completely shot although maybe useful for a couple of parts. The chassis is rough but saveable so i'll probably just put a repro tub on it once the chassis is more sorted.

Does anyone have any idea what it might be/ any information about it? The fenders are crumpled but they're the rounded type.

Any help is much appreciated,

Obviously, something went awry with my chain set up. I bought these quite a while ago as MBT trailer chains. They seem a tad short unless I only drive in a straight line. Back to the drawing board so to speak:

Dear Chuck
Jerome from France (near Paris )

My trailer comes from the french army , it has been rebuilt once for sure, there is a plate on it where we can the date of it's last rebuilt in 1965 .
It has all the attributes of an early MBT version

1. Data plate - missing
2. USA number - missing
3. ACM number - W 20 426
4. Upper shock mount - cotter-pin type - riveted
4.b Lower shock mount - cotter-pin type
5. Axel: with a cast housing in the center marked A 6399
6. Springs - 10 leaves
7. Tail lights mounts welded (I can see the welded remains , it is now bolted with remanufactured brackets
9. No unit numbers - only french numbers that will only give a clue on it's post war life ! ( in south of France !)
10. No bolt markings

I wish I could get all the information you can get about this trailer.

Many thanks in advance for your help.
Best Regards

Knut.....that trailer will be VERY close to the one you sent me info on, MBT serial number #84171. I do not have the ACM number from that one in my data base though. Since I don't have any others in the ACM number range of #86049 in my data base right now....any estimate of your cousin's MBT would be dependant on the ACM number from YOUR trailer. If you can send me that ACM number from your trailer, I can give you a MUCH better estimate for your cousin.

Zeph...someone has messed with the LINKS on your chains. You should have two LONGER links, one at each end and NINE slightly shorter links. Like this:

Jerome...can you check the ACM number once more please? Not everyone sends me all the answers to the "How To ID" questions, but I do have several MBTs in the low 17151W range with WELDED taillight brackets and another at 17447W with BOLTED taillight brackets.
