WTB Converto map case and title
Hi all... rebuilding a Converto. Do you all know of a source for a new or repro correct map case? Also, I do not have a title, is it possible to rebuild with another title, or better to go through the "lost title" with your State? I live in Washington. Thanks much, Steve

Re: WTB Converto map case and title
Each state has different requirements. Check with the local or state DMV for the procedures. NM changed the requirements last year and now one needs a Surety Bond for any MV without a title. It requires a trained official to conduct a VIN inspection to ensure no tampering has taken place. Some times, trailers are handled differently. The entire process took nearly 6 months, but then again here in NM, everything is slower with the government. In WA I think it is called a bonded title.

Thanks Tractor and Airborne. I am looking for the map case riveted to the front of the trailer.

They are actually for the lubrication chart. It rivets onto the front of the dumper. I purchased mine from tractor12. I can't rember which version i got from him, think it was the lighter one.

Not all Converto Airborne Dump trailers were equipped with the canvas bag on them. In the event yours does not have holes in it it may never have had one.

Hi Topkick. Mine had holes. Interestingly, they were just off from the new replacement bag I got from Tractor12. Had to redrill and then fill the old ones, but so worth it.

Re: WTB Converto map case and title
17th and Topkick.... trailer was very solid to start, no real rust or issues. My father in law bought it in So Oregon years ago and did a cosmetic restoration including a new gate. We just needed to paint, put a harness on, and some other small details. The floor is completely solid. I am going to put some kind of mat in the back so the trailer can actually help around the house.
