just purchased a K38 that is missing the data plate. Is there another location on the trailer where you can find a serial number?

Simple answer is no. I have one that between the handles was stamped with it’s serial number

Recently acquired K38 and here is what is on the original data plate. FWD forged top corner brackets, nothing on axle. No interior data plate or holes for one.

The Dec. 43 DOD for a FWD trailer with a serial number of 252 does not seem to follow the order of production, but I don't know what else to report. Currently undergoing restoration, but here are some photos of how I acquired it. Will post after photos in a few days. Tires and tubes on order and sandblasting as we speak.

Just picked up a pretty late model K-38. 1-31-47 dated. Serial number 94988. Data plate looks original but wrong rivets. According to what I've read, Highway K38s were early? The two large holes in the wheels were early/war time? If so, something's a bit off or the info was wrong. Anyone with any info would be appreciated. Also looking for a hub cover for it.

Not much action on this post, maybe this will get some going. Just acquired this K38 free from a guy who came to the Castle Rock, CO car show where I was displaying my 1943 GPW. He comes over and says he has some kind of strange military trailer that needs to go to a good home. That home is mine. It has spoked wheels could this be a late Eagle trailer? May not have not been military issue but it is in great shape and with some blasting and OD repaint it’s going to a cool addition to the Jeep display and parading. I plan on putting 15x7 NDTs on those rims. So far all nuts are breaking loose with ease as I disassemble it. No data plates found yet. Only serial number found so far was in side one of the wheel hub/bearing covers and it starts with an S. Pictures will follow. Any help with this antique will be greatly appreciated.

I finally got mine down to Florida from Ohio. Bought it from Dave A. in Dayton. I don't know if he has it listed here but here is tag info.

K-38 9-28-44
SN 2996
DWG # 172A78-922
FWD Auto Co
Eagle?Div
Appleton? Wisconsin

Also has brass tag riveted above it Tool Yard 784

I will post pics in separate topic later.

One pic for toting it. Got a Tacoma with a 6' bed and fits snug with tailgate closed.

I am looking for replacement tires, tubes and shields for a K-38 restoration. Can you point me to a retailer that can supply those?
Many thanks in advance!

Here is some info for tubes

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=325759

Probably Coker tire for tires if you are trying to find something close to original. They are motorcycle tires. Not sure what you mean by shields?

I would post on this forum but start a different thread and keep it out of the data base. But put what info you have in this data base.
