Mite transmission hung in 1st gear
I am having trouble with my M422’s transmission. It is hung in 1st gear. Gear shift lever moves freely. I can crank it with the clutch in with no problem. I searched the forum and could not find an answer. I am not a transmission person, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Mite transmission hung in 1st gear
Never messed with a mite before but if the trans is anything like a m151's then I would first guess that the end of the shift lever has jumped out of linkage. Does it move a lot more freely than before?

No it shifts about the same, not freely moving.

Pull the hump and cover. It may have broke the fork or the the shifter end came out of the bracket for the shift forks.

As near as I can tell from the pictures in the service manual you either have a broken shift fork or the roll pin that connects the shift fork to the shift rail has either broken or come out.
The Transmission/transfercase manual can be seen TM9-2520-237-35 pages 4-6. It can be downloaded from the link in this forum or from M422A1.com.
Best of luck!!
