adjusting fuel sensor
Beside emptying the fuel tank and bending the fuel float arm, what is the easiest way to adjust the fuel gauge to the correct reading?

Re: adjusting fuel sensor
There was another member on here that came to the conclusion that some of them just flat out will not read right no matter what. He tried everything you could do both electrical and mechanical and his never would read past 1/2 tank. It would read from there to empty. The aftermarket sensors that are out now are garbage and for the most part there isn't much you can do besides make sure the tank is grounded well, make sure the sensor ground is grounded to the tank and maybe add a second ground to the body. If you want to bend the arm you may be able to reach in the fill hole if you have small arms but it is probably a lot easier to take the unit out the top and do it there.

Re: adjusting fuel sensor
That is the issue I have the gauge only reads 1/2 and below. I have a new harness and clean grounds. I think it is the float devise as you mention. I think I'm being to picky.

Do some searches on here and on the g838 and you should find his thread. He tried everything and was very detailed in what he did.
Found it, See below.

I agree with what Raymond said in the above post, I've replaced everything trying to make one accurate, of the few I have, none are completely accurate.Rickf wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 12:41 pmDo some searches on here and on the g838 and you should find his thread. Re: adjusting fuel sensor
1966 technology worked quite well when it came to this stuff, it is the second millennium Chinese crap that does not work well. They have the ability to make very high quality components but they are not going to as long as people pay top dollar for crap! The people need to tell their suppliers they are NOT going to buy Chinese crap anymore unless it improves and then they HAVE to abide by that. If the sales fall flat then the Chinese will improve the product. That is the only way it will happen.

Re: adjusting fuel sensor
DIPSTICK? Just don't check the fuel level with your lighter!!! LOL
I shortened a fuel level sensor from an M880 that worked correctly. Most of them run around 0-200 ohms and you should be able to find something close in a salvage yard.
