Hi, I do not even know what to call this.. I have a 1964 m151a1. I am trying to find and purchase the hardware needed to secure the windshield on to the hood so I can drive around with the windshield laying flat on the hood. I have purchased a "M151 Jeep Windshield to hood Bumper Kit early type" which I have included in the photos... But I cant for the life of me figure out where it goes, and how it contributes to the hood/windshield dilemma. I put the photos on a google album, as I dont know how to shrink them in size to fit on the sites attachment system.

Thanks in advance for some help...

Re: Question regarding hood retaining clip system.
Those pieces in the pictures are the snuubbers for an early straight 151 and will be mounted roughly centered over each windshield glass. Depending on what year windshield you have you will have the appropriate mounting holes for the screws to mount those brackets or you will have one large square hole for a push in rubber snubber, the same as the ones over the clutch and brake pedals. You are missing the piece that goes in the center where your picture shows the screw holes. That piece is for holding the hood in the open position. The type of hold down that you have on your hood is for a later style windshield, A1 and up. The straight 151 used a floating pin through raised side brackets. This hood will still work with the older hardware though.

Re: Question regarding hood retaining clip system.
Thanks Rick, that makes sense now... I guess my question is how do I get the windshield to lie flat on the hood when I drive around? I thought the bumpers were somehow used to secure the windshield on the hood for driving but now I see that isn't correct.
thanks again... Steve

Re: Question regarding hood retaining clip system.
There is a strap that is attached to a footman loop on the inside of the windshield behind the mirror, this is what attaches to the footman loop on the hood to hold it down.
