Bent clutch rod?
Hi, I'm swapping out a power pack and this is what the original looks like that connects to the z-bar. The one on my original power pack is straight, this is bent, but it looks like it was factory bent...

That bent rod would go with the broken ear on the block where the Z-bar bushings go in. Did you ask questions a couple months ago about that broken Z-bar mount? If not you then someone else has the exact same broken mount. That is from forgetting to remove those parts when removing the engine. And no, that is not factory nor is it any good. I would bet there is damage to the clutch pivot inside also.

Yeah,that was me a few months ago. I'm going to disassemble this bellhousing and the original... I'll steal the rod from the original.
The tranny won't shift in this motor... Like you said ,. Probably damaged. I hope you can help once I pull it apart.

I would just unbolt the transmission and the bell housing from both and swap them. Use the best transmission on the best bell housing which appears to be your setup that is coming out of the vehicle and just bolt that to the good engine that is going to go into the vehicle. All of the clutch stuff is on the engine except the clutch arm and throw out bearing.

I think thats what I will do... Tell yoiu the truth, Im going to look around and see if anyone has a powerpack for sale! This is over my head.
I did remove the bottom plate of the bellhousing and took photos, I then unbolted the bellhousing and started to separate, but I only got about 2 inches and it wont budge. Does the tranny have to come out first?
I updated the photo album with pictures from the clutch.. It looks dead.... Unless you think I can repair the clutch, I'll end up using the second engine and its clutch, unless its damaged from the bend rod.... I feel like I have 2 motors with fatal flaws...

Yes to the tranny out first, bolt the bell back and then take the tranny out and then the bell. You don't have to torque the bell housing back down, just throw a few bolts in and evenly pull it in till the trans is out.

Ok, tranny out, stuck in gear, handle won't budge, I can use other transmission, it shifts fine. Here are photos of the clutch, it looks good to, but I don't know much shoot these. The clutch rod was bent, but the internals look ok.

I'd take the pressure plate off, inspect it, inspect the clutch disk also as you have access to it to look.(I guess any discoloration from oil, how thick the pad is etc.)
I guess somehow push on the plate fingers to gauge the pressure(I would say it would take a lot of pressure to move, I am sure there is a spec somewhere

Thanks, I guess it makes sense to inspect it since it's open and exposed. I'll read up on how to disassemble the clutch.

From what I can see that appears to be a fairly new clutch. What I am not sure of is the oil behind the flywheel. If there is oil on the back of the flywheel then you have a leaking rear main seal. It is easy to replace. As far as removing the clutch all you have to do is take the bolts out of the pressure plate in a circular pattern a little at a time, like one full turn at a time. Once the disc is loose you can take them the rest of the way out in any order. Be aware that when you put it together the clutch disc needs to be centered or you will never get the transmission in. There are splined tools for doing this but I have yet to find one in the oddball size that the M151 uses. You can get a universal cone shaped clutch alignment tool that will do the job. Most parts places will rent them or even loan them for free with a deposit.

Great info, thanks... Tomorrow I'll pull the clutch, check the seal, order a new one. I'll borrow the tool from the local parts store...
The transmission is stuck in gear... The seconds transmission seems fine, shifts ok, no rust, I was planning on using that one.

I've lucked out before by eye-balling the clutch disk lined up to pilot bearing
