Ken, I think you are correct on the date. The plastic bag that the DD1397 was in had a date of 10-78 stamped on it. I wonder if these vehicles came over here new, or were surplused, sold and shipped over? Would a DD1397 like this only come with the vehicle from the factory? This DD form is the only one we found out of all the Mutts there, but there really isn't a way to be sure if they are all from the same date range.

I can guarantee that the A1's are from a much earlier date! They stopped making them in 1969.

Rick you are right. I didn't have a whole lot of time to look closely at each vehicle when I was in the yard, so I missed some obvious signs of A1s (i.e. flat fenders). I see some now when I looked back through the photos I took.

Tell ya what, if I send you some stamps, can you mail me home a jeep, one piece at a time like Radar did on M.A.S.H.????
:D :D

That is so darn cool, wish there was a way to get them back here. At least they are not going to rust away there in the desert...

Amazing...just amazing!!

Thanks for the pics...something to drool over.

"What we need here" is the OP to go back over there with our "requisition forms" for body panels, tires, engines, those ambulance parts, seat frames, oh the list goes on.... Surely that would work, magic word "please" in big bold print too....LOL.

What's needed is to repeal the Clinton law(s) that place us in this downward slope to owning nothing unless the State lets us.

Anyway, I did not realize the 825's were equipped with the rack on the dash like the TOW models. The TOW model also kept the rear tire mount (even though it used the side mount) and I realize that's so the 106 mount can be removed out of the rear of the jeep.
Guess there was a rack to hold several ready rounds just like the TOW ended up with.
I'm now making progress on the TOW carrier jeep to go behind the TOW jeep. Hope to have something put together by May fopr Aberdeen, but the Liberty Standard B is calling me. Anyone have any TOW case umbilical covers I could use 6 to finish off the display set of missle tubes. (And an M8 dash mount with alarm to go ewith my M43 chem detector while I'm dreaming)

Now that I'm going crazy, who do I send over my priority "00" 2765 too  I can only imagine we will soon see HMMWV in the same condition stored in desert bone yard because of lack of parts from our so called "allies".
