Wow, if it were still around in that condition. We sold new CJ-5's when they first came on the market during the 1955 year.

Spring has sprung-2016.
The MB started instantly after 6 months with no priming or boosting.
It's fun playing "eenie meenie" to decide which one to drive.

Am officially like Gene Autry sings "I'm Back in the Saddle Again". Both the MB and the M-38A1 feel good under my butt and are sure feeling their oats even with last season's fuel. Each Jeep has a special meaning to me, the MB represents the 7 decades I have been surrounded by WWII Veterans and their vehiclrs and the M-38A1 represents the same with newer veterans and the good 60's memories in the military. They are old friends, and as my friend Lawrence Nabholtz told me, "Old friends are the best friends". Army Jeeps give me a chance to relive the Army experience and stay in practice maintaining Jeeps exactly the way the military intended.

Wish Spring would happen, still in the 30's with residue od last week's Blizzard.
Jeeps are getting "Itchy", staying indoors. Am using NOKO Genius Smart Chargers on my MV's with a G7200 6-12-24 Volt version on the M-38A1 as a trial. Using a good battery maintainer has doubled the life of the GI 2HN GI Issue Batteries I used in my M-38A1 and my M-114. 5 Years was the norm for a matched set of NOS US 2HN GI Issue Batteries before I started using 24V battery maintainers. I bought two a few years back, one from Zero Davidson, at Starr Electric, and a nearly identical one from Jeff Smith. It was well worth the investment.

MB has been in my stable 46 years, M-38A1, 42 years, and CCKW, 34 years.

Be sure to watch the video noted above by Fernando , there are MB's and assorted service vehicles and a good feel for what it is like to be on an active Flightline. The smoky exhaust is typical F-86.

Thank you, Fernando.

I watched the video; I wonder what's the significance of the one-finger salute the officers on the ground gave the pilots about 17-1/2 minutes in...
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?

Battery maintainers pay off. The NOKO Genius will come close to doubling your battery life. I use the NOKO Genius 3500 on the MB and the 7200 on the M-38A1. Will swap to NOKO Genius 3500 on my CCKW. My M-38A1 uses GI Issue 2 HN's and it looks I'll have a 70 80 year supply of NOS 2HN's (Dry Charge). NOKO Genius Battery Maintainers do pay off.

With all this battery talk, what is the average life of a 6 volt battery ? When i purchased my jeep, the guy i bought it off gave me a spare battery, it hasnt even had the acid poured in it yet, he wasnt sure how long the other would last. It still seems to be going and going, and i put the overnight trickle charge on it occasionly, but no let downs as yet. For the record there is a price tag on the new one, it comes in at £140, thats about $185 to my USA friends , what do you guys pay for one over your side ?

Soon to be repeated, but not soon enough. got the gang out of storage this past weekend, all got their post storage daily PM per the TM. Took a couple hours. Parade ready for upcoming Memorial Day Parade. Gotta do the "eenie meenie" thing to decide which Quarter Ton to drive this Memorial Day.
