Are there plans for scratch building a hand cart?

Post by Andy Cole » Wed Sep 27, 2017 7:08 am

This may be a weird or strange request, but are there plans anywhere for scratch building reproductions of a hand cart?
I teach metal fabrication, and have access to lathes, mills, punches, presses, brakes, CNC machinery etc. I would like a cart, but have never seen on in person. I constantly look for such items while traveling, visiting flea markets, auctions, etc.

They can't be that hard to manufacture, except for the cast parts. I've seen some reproductions of those parts available though if I'm not mistaken.

I suspect that it would be considerably cheaper to manufacture a reproduction from scratch than to purchase one from a dealer. (Im a father of three on a teacher's salary...I have to be frugal!) What I lack in finances I make up for in patience, ingenuity, skill, and determination.

I'd like to be able to move my display 1917a1 and accessories around at WWII living histories and events a little more authentically.

If there are no plans available, would someone be willing to take detail measurements and photos for me?

Thanks so much!

Try Jeep Draw, if he does not have drawings already he may be able to make some up with help from some people on this page.
