Is your June 51 the manufacture date or delivery date?My 10675 was manufactured in Dec.1950 delivered more than likely Feb.1951.

I have only noted the early front brackets on some of the 1950 dated M-38 Jeeps.

That is the delivery date not the manufacture date.It was made after the change late May-early June. What is the date cast into your transmission?

My transmission is stamped on top L5 2-3. And the casting on the side is 5-21. I do not know what that means. But the engine was a RMC.

At least through 1953 GI issue transmissions have the manufacture date cast into them.

Then it is a replacement, as was the engine. It has only 5-21 cast into it.
