They are Dept of the Army Contract numbers for procurement contracts with Willys for the M38.

DA-20-018-ORD-9196 51 with winch
DA-20-089-ORD4601FS 51 Mar thru Aug
W-20-089-ORD-4758 51 with winch
DA-33-019-ORD.-43 51 Oct thru 52 Apr
DA-33-019-ORD-630 52 May thru end of production Jul 52

(Note: DA-33-019-ORD-630 continued on with the M38A1 production.)

Above are from our data base on the Yahoo M38 Group. The dates are close but may vary. I haven't had a response from any of the Sep 50 thru Mar 51 owners to ascertain the earlier DA contract numbers.

What are the MCxxxxx serial numbers for your two M38's?

Use your imagination and try to think what may be that long on a Jeep. Brake tubing, maybe? Do I get a prize?
