Post by Ben Dover » Wed Jan 03, 2018 10:37 pm

Some of us remember new or near new M-38A1 Jeeps in their factory fresh or near factory fresh original 2430 OD SG paint. the 2430 was a very eye pleasing color.

Depends on the era of one's exposure to military trucks, many Viet Nam vets are partial to Forrest Green or Camoflage pattern as that is what they were familiar with.

Getting paint sent to NZ is problematic, is it possible to get the tinting instructions for the colors you are referring to? My Jeep desperately needs a paint job!!!

Thanks

Do you have a PPG or DuPont Dealer over there?

Hi Joel,
yes, we have both PPG & DuPont. Are the formula numbers theirs?

Thanks

I used to have 14087, 24087, 34087 OD mixed by those in plain old fashioned enamel. back in the 60's- 70's before the hobby caught on. DuPont had it in their automotive catalogs back then. My lab tested PPG paints for a project and PPG supplied a formula for 24087.. They may still list a formula at their factory.
This is before I bought Gov't Surplus Paint thru DRMO. I have not had it mixed since.
