DRIVING THE M-38

Post by Joe Gopan » Thu Dec 21, 2017 8:38 am

There is nothing like doing nighttime roving patrol out at the firing ranges of Ft Dix in December 1960 weather in an M-38 with no side curtains or heater.

Very cool. I often think of how many soldiers drove my 1951 M38 and had stories like this. My 51' was released from the Army in 1983!! so there were many riders. Have a nice Christmas Joel, John

When I was in the 24th ID, our SOP was no top, and windshields down and covered with a shelter half, when in the field. You can see glare from a windshield from miles away.
