physics question
This is a little different question I know.
After a lot of searching I found what I believe to be a toy hauler trailer that the mutt will fit into. most of them claim a large garage area, but they are finished off with decorative flooring with many items built in so the garage area is really only large enough for bikes and small items (what I call "for the lake"). Anyway I found one that has enough garage area and built heavy enough to load my Mutt. The loading ramp (back door) is 9 foot long, and roughly sits at a 30 degree angle. with 12 foot of length for the garage. Seeing is the Mutt comes in at roughly 2500 pounds and I want to wench it into the trailer, so here is my question. how do I figure how much pull it takes to pull 2500 rolling pounds up the 30 degree 9 foot ramp for loading. I did find a few formulas on the web but I am not smart enough to even figure it out.
I can drive it part of the way up the ramp, but it does get smaller the deeper I have it in the trailer, and do not want to damage the trailer.
anyone know how to figure this out ? or where I can find this information?

I can't help with the formula but you can get those Badlands winches from Harbor freight cheap. Get a 5,000 lb. one and you will have plenty of power and you can always run a snatch block if not. But keep in mind that you are putting 2500 lbs. BEHIND the the trailer axles!! Not a good idea at all. That means you will need at bare minimum about 3500 lbs. an equal distance in front of the axles to get the needed tongue weight. So you are up to 6,000 lbs. already and that does not include any weight that is directly over the axles. No matter what that is some serious leverage on the center of the trailer frame, especially over bumps.

see if I can explain this correctly. length of trailer is 21'8", gvwr 10160 uvw is 4640, hitch weight 760,so carrying is 5520. the mutt at 2500 leaves me extra 3020 carrying capacity. this trailer is over the tires, no wheel wells, the front of the mutt has the most weight and would be over the two axles. the front has the water tanks. This should center up the weight fairly well. and keep the tongue weight at a proper level.
well that is how we came up with the figures anyway. The bad parts was by the time we found this one, we pulled it home when it was snowing, so we didn't have a chance to try a practice fit of the mutt. (mutt is nice and warm tucked away in the shop for the winter). the only thing I didn't care for is it is 12' tall.

You say you can drive up in the trailer, but the passage way gets smaller? I'd measure it, if it fits, then drive it in.Or push it in.Hard to say anything not being there

If that is 21'8" they must be measuring the tongue too! Mine is an 18 foot trailer and the interior is 18 feet on the dot and it is a lot longer than that. Unless it is just an optical illusion. I see that the axles are pretty far back so that changes what I was talking about. Maybe because it is 12 feet high makes it look shorter? It does not look that high either.

Not the answer you were looking for. But here's my response;
Not much.
I used a hand powered lever type come a long and handedly pulled my MUTT with four low tires into my trailer up a set of oil change ramps and up a 2" ledge where he ramp wasn't as tall as he trailer.
Basically a free rolling MUTT up that ramp could be moved with just about the smallest winches on the market.

I just can't wrap my head around that angled siding! It is a very strange look, makes everything that is mounted to the trailer look out of square.
