BUT, You can buy the very same bits cheaper from the manufacturer!

So its the bit and is there supposed to be a holder or is that in the kit? let me look.

It is all in the kit but the bits do not last all that long, that is why I suggest going through the company and not Eastwood. Same part but Eastwood has added their % into the price.

I bought a hammer and dolly kit from Eastwood based on their name and reputation thinking I would get good tools. I paid a pretty high price for the tools. Come to find out they are EXACTLY the same ones that Harbor Freight sell! Right down to the cheapo blow molded case and emblems on the tools!!!! I called Eastwood and pointed this out and they "assured me" I was mistaken. I have been a master mechanic for over 40 years, I know a bit about tools. I am NOT mistaken. I have not bought a tool from them since. I have found tools they have and then researched the net and found the same tools cheaper in other places.

Here are some pics of the tubing setup on a couple of takeout A2 engines, and a shot of the carb hose attachment as well. As you can see, these lines are galvanized steel and preformed, similar to brake line material..

And the only difference between Ed's pictures and an A1 would be the fuel line to the fuel pump. There would be no line coming up to the carb due to the vacuum pump and no fuel pump and the fuel line would come in from the drivers fender to a 90 degree fitting to the carburetor. Most of the rest of the lines are all the same. The vent line going to the fuel pump on an A2 will go to the oil pressure safety switch on an A1.

One of the 3 "clamped together" lines goes to the oil pressure safety switch in this photo I believe. The vacuum line at the rear of the block coming from the intake manifold goes to the distributor as I recall.
On the A1, I dont think that big single line from the carb exists, unless it might go to the wiper vacuum pump on those that had the fuel pump in the tank. I just dont remember for sure. I need to get my TM and look at it for the A1

You have two large lines there that do not exist on an A1, the one running across the top of the carburetor does not exist on an A2 either, that one was added to convert an A1 fuel line over to an A2 mechanical fuel pump. So basically the OP should only be looking at the lines that are in the bundle, NOT the lines going to and from the fuel pump as these are not stock. This engine was converted over to mechanical fuel pump.

Yes I agree, and the conversion was made by the US of A Army. All of these take out engines that I have came directly out of jeeps as surplus property that were demilled on the installation.

I need to check who has NOS for those lines or do I need to fabricate those lines. I also just ordered the spot weld bits/kit.

I have never seen the lines for sale, I believe you just need to get a quality bender and bend your own. That is all I ever did in my shop. It helps if you have the old ones to pattern after but with these pics and the fact they are short lines you should be able to get them done. I have three or four different tubing benders since no one will do everything you need to do.
