I add the brake limiter to my HMMWV as you can find it on the up armored ECV vehicles.
I'm not quite sure but it seems to me that it prevent a 100% blocking of the wheels, so that you wouldn't slide if you brake. And still have the pöosibility to steer. The rear wheels are still 100% blocking. I don't no if they did that before but I guess it depends on the light weight of my truck. The brake limitter is for the M1151; M1114…

Re: Brake limiter
So essentially you gave it front ABS -- nice!

Re: Brake limiter
I suppose having front-only ABS would cause the rear end to slide around on you more easily -- was that what happened? Just curious!

Re: Brake limiter
Check out my brake test video on youtube the wheels where blocking to hard because of my low curb wight. This application make only sense if you are really heavy. (I mean your truck )
And it's only a brake limiter not really an abs.

Re: Brake limiter
Seems like it would screw up th system, reverting more force to the rear- not good for a lightwieght vehicle. You never want rear whel lock up, aa typical nonor non functioning abs system in a panic stop briefly locks up the rears, then the front, the rears power is cut up to half to help moderate braking. Really, you don'y want to be locking up at all- loss of traction, what you can do is ease braking, and if you feel your self about to lock up; poor mans abs, modulate(gently tap) your foot.STUDENT-DRIVER wrote:Check out my brake test video on youtube the wheels where blocking to hard because of my low curb wight.
