Dave
Yes it is true- I am working on another Odeo-graphie thingie. This is for the master of the "G".
Lots need to be done and made to complete it to factory specs. Going to be a long process but in the end another unit will live to make/follow a map. Stay tuned over the next few months.
Cheers

I don't have the unit, unfortunately, but if that can help your survey, I have the original manual, TM5-9411, sept. 16 1943, for the IBM M-1 model odograph.

it's coming from O. LEE MERRICK LT, ORD DEPT.

Check out this link
http://www.jeepdraw.com/pauls.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's purpose was to make or follow a map. Used in area's that needed a more detailed route than was available. It made a tracing that you could overlay or transfer to an existing map of the area.
Hope that helps a little

Hello Paul and all.
I am new to the G503, so I may not answer the quite old mail on Odograph survey in a correct fashion.
I am a military radio collector and not a vehicle collector. Just got an Odograph as a part of a trade with radios and found it interesting as I have spent many years in the design of the GPS system.
To add this apparently working unit to your tally , it has serial number 705 on all three units. Located in SF Bay area.
Will dust it off and check the electronics before hanging a battery on it and see what color smoke it generates.
The original TM seems to have sufficient information.

After that I would like to trade it for WWI radios (also a kind of unobtainium) or sell it.
Thanks,
BJ

Sorry, I don't have one, but....15 or so years ago I attended a large vintage car swap meet in Southern Australia. I cam across an (odd to me) Odograph, definitely ex army...green in color, dated 1943 USA. Looked to be in good overall condition. $80 asking price. After looking it over and trying to work out what it was...or what I would do with it...I passed it up and moved on to look at other things. Then it happened.....curiosity got the better of me and I decided to go back to where it was for sale and just buy it! As luck would have it, when I got back there...IT WAS GONE!!!! Just goes to show that you should never pass up an opportunity. Only I have ever seen here down under...
